Valery Vsevolodovych Kostrytskyi is a scientist in the field of mechanics of deformed solids. Doctor of technical sciences, professor. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine since 2009. Honorary Doctor of Khmelnytskyi National University.
Biography
He was born in 1949. In 1974, he graduated with honors from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In 1983 he defended his candidate's thesis, in 1992 he defended his doctoral thesis on the specialty 01.02.04 "Mechanics of deformed solids". Currently, he is the head of the department of electromechanical systems, the vice-rector for scientific work of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design.
Research activities
He is one of the founders of a new promising scientific direction — structural micromechanics of polymer, composite, textile, and construction materials; he manages the state budget and economic contract issues related to the problems of the light, chemical, and textile industries of Ukraine.
The author of 230 scientific and methodological works, including 4 textbooks, 3 monographs, 6 educational and methodological manuals, more than 20 patents and author's certificates.
Conducts scientific supervision of doctoral students, post-graduate students, master's students: as a scientific consultant, he trained 2 doctors of science and 5 candidates of science.
Participated in 40 international, republican scientific and technical conferences, congresses and symposiums. Deputy editor-in-chief of the specialist magazine "Visnyk KNUTD", member of the editorial board of the magazine "Problems of the Light and Textile Industry of Ukraine"; head of the specialized scientific council D 26.102.03; member of the scientific and methodical commission of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine; member of the board of vice-rectors for scientific work of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine; member of the Committee for State Awards of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, head of the light and food industry section.
