Nellya Nychkalo

Nellya Hryhorivna Nychkalo (born on September 26, 1939, Starognativka village, now Volnovasky District, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is a Ukrainian teacher, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (1985), Professor (1987), Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (1995) , Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1998), Full chevalier of the Order of Princess Olga (2003, 2009, 2014).

Honorary Doctor of Khmelnytskyi National University.

Biography

Nellya Nychkalo was born on September 26, 1939 in the village of Starognativka, now Myrna settlement community, Volnovasky district, Donetsk region. Mother worked as a kindergarten teacher. After graduating from the Volnova Secondary Railway School, she studied at the Verkhnyan Pedagogical specialized school of the Donetsk Region. After graduating in 1958, she entered the philological faculty of Ivan Franko Lviv State University, where she graduated in 1965. For a long time, she worked as a teacher in the Lviv region. In 1970, she began collaborating with the author of the scientific school, Professor Eduard Kostyashkin, the head of the school development forecasting laboratory of the Research Institute of General Pedagogy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.Since 1976, she worked in the apparatus of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1981, she was appointed head of the department of vocational and technical education of the Institute of Pedagogy of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1993, she moved to the position of deputy director for scientific work at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Professional Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In December 1995, Nellya Nychkalo was elected academician-secretary of the department of professional education and adult education of the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
