KHNU Vice-Rector Kateryna Skyba took part in an important meeting regarding cooperation between Ukrainian and European universities. On March 13, the University of Strasbourg hosted a high-level conference on "Cooperation between European and Ukrainian institutions of higher education: state and future prospects." The event brought together representatives of state bodies of Ukraine and the European Union, the European Parliament, the European Commission, as well as heads of leading Ukrainian and European universities. Kateryna Skyba had the honor of representing Khmelnytskyi National University in a delegation of 15 representatives of higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Під час зустрічі проректорка мала змогу безпосередньо зустрітися та обговорити нагальні питання співпраці з керівництвом таких європейських ЗВО, як: Університет імені Адама Міцкевича у Познані, Варшавська політехніка, Гданський університет та інші.
On the agenda were issues of exchange of experience, expansion of cooperation and finding ways to overcome the challenges faced by Ukrainian universities in the conditions of a full-scale war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Kateryna Skyba had the opportunity to voice the most acute problems that currently exist in KhNU. At the same time, it was extremely useful to hear about successful practices and support mechanisms that their European partners already provide to Ukrainian higher education institutions.
Зокрема, ректорка Університету імені Адама Міцкевича у Познані, професорка Богумила Каневська наголосила на готовності поділитися набутим за останні два десятиліття досвідом модернізації вищої освіти для сприяння реформуванню української системи перед майбутньою інтеграцією до ЄС. Вона також розповіла про низку ініціатив на підтримку України, завдяки яким близько 1000 українських викладачів і студентів отримали можливість безпечно ознайомитися з роботою сучасного польського університету.
«Наші дві нації зазнали кривавих переслідувань з боку росії. Ми близькі за менталітетом і мовними особливостями. Тому всі польські університети підтримували і продовжують підтримувати українських друзів. Ми робимо це, бо в Польщі розуміємо значення слова “Солідарність”», – підкреслила професорка Богумила Каневська.
The event in Strasbourg was held under the patronage of the Vice-President of the European Parliament Eva Kopacz, the former Prime Minister of Poland. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi and Deputy Minister of Education of the Czech Republic Yiri Nantl also took part in it.
Під час конференції проректор Університету імені Адама Міцкевича, професор Рафал Вітковський представив фінальний документ під назвою «Декларація стратегічного партнерства». Цей документ є закликом до Європейської Комісії щодо виділення фінансування для підтримки консорціумів європейських університетів та окремих ЗВО, які активно співпрацюють з українською стороною та надають допомогу нашим закладам. Проректорка Катерина Скиба своїм підписом засвідчила, що Хмельницький національний університет є одним з підписантів цієї декларації та долучається до процесів пришвидшення входження українських ЗВО до європейського освітньо-наукового простору як повноцінного партнера.
Representatives of the European Commission, in turn, described the new financing mechanisms for academic projects of cooperation with Ukraine, which appeared in connection with the approval by the European Parliament of an unprecedented aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros.
On behalf of Khmelnytskyi National University, vice-rector Kateryna Skyba expressed her sincere gratitude to the organizers of the event - University of Strasbourg and Adam Mickiewicz University, as well as to all participants for their solidarity, support and understanding of the difficult situation in which Ukrainian higher education institutions now. She emphasized the belief that the joint efforts of Ukraine and its European partners will overcome all obstacles on the way to the full integration of Ukrainian universities into the European scientific and educational space.
