On July 2,<\/strong> in the university's meeting room (3-207), SOLIDWORKS international certificates were solemnly awarded to students of our university who successfully passed official certification exams from Dassault Syst\u00e9mes, a world leader in the development of computer-aided design (CAD) systems and computer modeling in mechanical engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOLIDWORKS is one of the most powerful CAD systems for solving mechanical engineering problems today, used by enterprises around the world to design products of any complexity and purpose in various industries. That is why students of leading educational institutions around the world use SOLIDWORKS to study engineering disciplines: from the basics of 3D modeling to complex engineering calculations. Khmelnytskyi National University was one of the first higher education institutions in Ukraine to introduce modern SOLIDWORKS technologies into the educational process for training students of engineering and technical specialties: the use of SOLIDWORKS technologies began in 2006 with the university's first license, which was granted by Dassault Syst\u00e9mes (France, USA), and in 2009 the university first received the status of to the SOLIDWORKS Center<\/strong> Academic Certification Provider<\/strong> , which enabled our students to receive the SOLIDWORKS certification exams. In 2010, based on the results of our work, our license was expanded to 500 workplaces under the grant - at that time the only university in Ukraine, and in 2011, thanks to the support of the university administration, a specialized computer classroom was opened - the SOLIDWORKS Center (3-103), which was then visited by representatives of Dassault Syst\u00e9mes SOLIDWORKS Corp. from the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n

Since then, thanks to grant support from Dassault Syst\u00e9mes (France, USA), our university has been a licensed SOLIDWORKS user with the right to conduct SOLIDWORKS certification exams, and its students and teachers have the right to use licensed SOLIDWORKS on their home computers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to prepare our students in-depth for certification exams, Professor Vyacheslav<\/strong> Kharzhevskyi<\/strong> conducts student scientific seminars at the SOLIDWORKS Center, and based on the results of such training, students have the opportunity to take certification exams in our center online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American certification server of SOLIDWORKS Corporation accepts such exams in an automated mode. The SOLIDWORKS International Certification Exam consists of 14 test tasks, including a number of tasks on 3D modeling of parts, assemblies, as well as test questions on the correct design of drawings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since March of this year, students have been taking an additional advanced training course at the SOLIDWORKS Center, which included the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Advanced features of the SOLIDWORKS system for creating complex geometry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Study of literature recommended by SOLIDWORKS Corporation to prepare for certification exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. In-depth study of the capabilities of SOLIDWORKS in creating drawings according to national standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Work with complex assemblies. Automation of design and development work and parameterization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Basics of designing sheet metal parts. Fundamentals of calculating parts for strength using the finite element method<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, as part of the course, students considered the theoretical foundations of additive 3D printing technologies and the practice of working with a modern 3D printer ZORTRAX M200, which was received by the SOLIDWORKS center from the European Commission through grant funding under the TEMPUS project.<\/p>\n\n\n

This year, students who were preparing for SOLIDWORKS certification exams graduated for the 12th time: as a result of the training at the SOLIDWORKS Center, 28 university students<\/strong> successfully passed international certification exams. Moreover, unlike in previous years, training was conducted not only for obtaining basic level certificates, but also professional ones in various fields. In total, 28 students received 38 certificates<\/strong>as three of them received several certificates - both basic and professional levels. In particular, the following students became certified SOLIDWORKS specialists:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that students passing exams not only of the basic but also of the professional level in various fields indicates a high level of training received at the university, and this year for the first time exams were held not only in modeling but also in engineering analysis: for the first time, a student of our university, Mykhailo Sviatushenko,<\/strong> successfully passed the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate \u2013 Simulation<\/strong> (strength calculations - linear static analysis) exam. Moreover, this is the first such student not only at our university, but also among all higher education institutions in Ukraine! The student passed this international exam after studying the specialized discipline \"Systems of Engineering Analysis\" (teacher - Prof. V.Kharzhevskyi).<\/p>\n\n\n

The SOLIDWORKS Center of ourhttp:\/\/solidworks.com.ua<\/a>is currently the most effective among all higher education institutions in Ukraine - during the existence of the center, more than 600<\/strong> official certification exams have already been held (taking into account that for a professional level, 3 exams are required) and a total of 546 certificates<\/strong>have been issued. Over the years, 375 students<\/strong> of Khmelnytskyi National University have become certified specialists. By the number of certified SOLIDWORKS specialists, the university holds the lead among Ukrainian higher education institutions both for the entire period of the SOLIDWORKS Center's existence and by the results of successful certifications for the current year 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the SOLIDWORKS Center (SEC \"CAD\") successfully cooperates with machine-building enterprises in our region and Ukraine as a whole. In particular, under the leadership of Prof. V. Kharzhevskyi, the center constantly trains employees of industrial enterprises, provides advanced training, technical support for engineering software, and scientific consultations for enterprises. During its existence, the SOLIDWORKS center of our university has already provided scientific services worth more than 28000 USD (at the NBU rate), and cooperates with engineering software developers on grant funding for licenses to support the educational process at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
